“For children, nature comes in many forms. A newborn calf; a pet that lives and dies; a worn path through the woods; a fort nested in stinging nettles; a damp, mysterious edge of a vacant lot- whatever shape nature takes, it offers each child an older, larger world… nature does not steal time; it amplifies it.” -Richard Louv

our little trip turned out to be a bit too much with noah in tow, all he wanted to do was go into the river. which with it being about 45 degrees out, it just wasn't happening. so i headed back to the car, with an all out fit-throwing tot in my arms. this boy was not happy about being dragged away from the fun, while tanner and papa got to stay fishing. and then he spotted my water bottle and his 5 minute long fit came to an abrupt end. wawa, mama?
i'm a happy boy.... what fit?
and the two of us enjoyed the last 5 minutes of our walk with smiles :)

Fishing, how fun!!!
It is so amazing how quickly little ones can get over there troubles isn't it? It is something I truly admire about them.
Have a great day!
Will he really stand there patiently and fish? Audrey has been wanting to learn to fish so badly. My dad loves fishing and I used to fish all the time, but I thought she might need a year or two more before she'd actually find it fun to stand there with a pole in the water. Maybe I was wrong...
Glad the littlest found the water bottle. Those sig bottles are the coolest for the toddler set, apparently. Gray adores mine and his.
We tried fishing with our boys at that age and it was a disaster. Maybe it's time to try again. I used to fish a lot when I was a young girl.
Glad you had that water bottle. :)
The first time I went fishing, I caught a 35 pounder....me. I caught the hook on the bottom of my bathing suit. Hopefully, Noah will be ready next year.
Those stone walls are gorgeous.. and the door??? I can imagine it leads to another world... (maybe I read a little too much Narnia as a child lol)
Our "into Nature" moment of the week was The 1st "Big Creek" Day of 2012!!

amber and monika, tanner definitely did not stand there the whole time :) pat would cast it in and every few casts would let tanner reel it in. and every time he had a bite he would let tanner reel in the fish. tanner stayed interested but also found plenty of entertainment tossing rocks into the water while papa did his thing :) so far he has taken a liking to it!
I love the big jumps off big rocks that my kiddos do when hiking in the woods! Great pics!
