“For children, nature comes in many forms. A newborn calf; a pet that lives and dies; a worn path through the woods; a fort nested in stinging nettles; a damp, mysterious edge of a vacant lot- whatever shape nature takes, it offers each child an older, larger world… nature does not steal time; it amplifies it.” -Richard Louv

we had a beautiful nature-filled birthday weekend... from the hours spent outside in the new sandbox that pat built for tanner's birthday, to the fun-filled day at Flanders Nature Center farm day- a day filled with animals, tractors, hiking, and some good ol' live music to round it all out. i don't think any of us could have asked for a more perfect weekend :)

Now that looks like a great birthday! My littles are born in January, the height of our rainy season so we generally have a big party indoors.
We're planning on building a sandbox like that soon when we get the bottom fence replaced. Our current sandbox is tiny. Love yours!
we usually go camping for birthdays due to our October and march birthdays (living in Texas) However I'm due in a few weeks here and we will not be camping in June! Anyway love your blog and here is a link to one of our walks last week.

Oh goodness that little chick peeking out from mama hen is precious!
Our {into nature} moments were found in the garden and in the creek!
